Round two of the Super Eights Qualifiers took place over Saturday and Sunday with two games on each day.

Saturday saw the mouthwatering prospects of Hull KR travelling to Leigh Centurions with both sides desperate for 2018 Super League action. Over at the Halliwell-Jones the Warrington Wolves were taking on fellow Super League side the Catalans Dragons.

On Sunday Widnes Vikings travelled to Halifax while London and Featherstone met at the Trailfinders.

It was a sensational game at the Leigh Sports Village where the visitors Hull KR snatched a 20-16 victory.

Over at the Halliwell-Jones, Warrington Wolves moved to the top of the table with a big win over fellow Super League club the Catalans Dragons. Ratchford, Russell and Patton had put the home side 18-0 ahead before Casty pulled one back for the Dragons. An Atkins try on twenty-eight, and a second for Ratchford on thirty-five gave the Wolves a 30-6 interval lead. Inu narrowed the deficit just after the break but Atkins added his second for 36-12. A Tierney try made it 36-18 but tries from Lineham and Hiku put the game beyond the French side at 48-18. Inu got his second of the afternoon but the last score of the game went to Lineham as the Wolves won 52-24.

London and Featherstone played out an incredible 32-32 draw which ultimately does neither side many favours. London were 14-0 ahead through Pitts, Kear and Barthau tries before Farrell and Davies reduced the arrears to four points at the interval. A aecond for Davies and a try for Briscoe, both converted, put Fev’ 22-14 up but three tries in eleven minutes from Sammut, Ioane and Ackers gave the Broncos a 32-22 advantage. Briscoe scored his second try for the visitors ten minutes from the end and Ulugia stunned the home support when he scored in the last minute with the Hardman conversion levelling the scores.

Widnes Vikings had a much easier afternoon at Halifax where they romped to an 18-0 interval lead thanks to converted tries from Bridge, White and Runciman. Thompson grabbed two more four-pointers in in a two minute blitz early in the second half for 26-0 before Heaton grabbed a brace as consolation for ‘Fax. Mellor and Craven both scored for the Vikings in the dying stages for a comprehensive 36-12 win to lift them into the top four.

On current standings (two games of seven played);

2018 Super League: Warrington Wolves, Hull KR, Leigh Centurions
Million Pound Game: Widnes Vikings v. Catalans Dragons
2018 Championship: London Broncos, Featherstone Rovers, Halifax
