Anybody know the name of the amatuer player from one of the Leigh clubs fighting a 1 year ban for a contraversial tackle on a St Pats player?

According to the League Weekly he played for the Leigh East club and his nae was Danny Kilshaw.

Watched it on youtube and it wasnt as bad as some tackle's ive seen both in professional and amatuer rugby league

Yeah it's Danny Kilshaw. He's played for the Leigh East 1st team since he was 16 and has represented BARLA GB at all levels. The tackle was more instinctive than malicious but a year ban is a joke. The NCL have set a dangerous precedent with this 12 month ban. I would what someone whose found guilty of biting, gouging, etc will be given?

I'd like to add I think it's a terrible decision too. Apparently he wasn't represented at the disciplinary which was frowned upon, but although deserving of a long ban along the lines of 6-8 games I think a year is grossly over the top. A professional player would never be banned for that long for such an offence, and in the other game a Gloucester player has just been banned for 14 weeks for punching and kneeing a prone player in the head, far worse offences than what we are dealing with here IMO.

Yeah just seen the link Pimp sent me. Its a bad tackle, not worthy of a year. Hope a player isnt lost to the game for this.

Danny is one of the best amateur players in the country, and to lose him to the game over this would be a disaster.
