| Can we afford a half that is resurrecting his career ,time will tell and that one, but we need to hit the ground running as Leigh did ,and to that end they got in a world class half who bossed the game from the off ,not a lad finding his feet after numerous setbacks . I hope he rekindles his game that the pundits used rave about as an England half in the making ,because there will be no where to hide ones that whistle blows in our first game back in the big time .

| Butcher:
He has indeed, but I just mean that calibre of player really. There aren’t many great wingers off contract either side of the world, and I’m sure that’s in the team’s thoughts.
Weel, that's a bit like saying we could do with some of the SOO players......

| IMO we need a big nasty disruptive hard to handle front rower who can come off the bench and rattle the opposition for 15 minutes a half.
Looking at us next year with a fully fit squad and the additions so far my selection would be Jowitt Walmsley Hall Pratt Johnstone Trueman Lino McMeeken Smoothy Uele Storton Vangana Tevaga
Smith Rodwell Fa’atili ?????? Signing as prescribed earlier
Got Rourke, Tchimambe, Scott, Myers, to cover 1 to 5 We have good back row cover Could probably do with another quality half We have 3 quality hookers But we are short on front rowers unless we move a back rower up which isn’t ideal

| I agree. Except I'd like the big disruptor to be a second row. Like a better Tanginoa or like Griffin was in hus prime.

| Spot on Avenger, that'd be my first 17 as it stands too.
Listening to Ste Mills' great interview on the Heritage podcast and putting reports together, it looks like Atoni (Cas), Hood (Oldham), Griffin (York) and Matty Russell (TBC) are on their way out. I'm comfortable with all those - they've been quality for us, particularly in the last 18 months, but we can look to the future now.
The only other two out of contract are Croft and Cozza, and with '3 or 4' more coming through the door (including tonight's announcement), you'd imagine they'll drop down the pecking order or have to go elsewhere. So if you look at our depth, we definitely need a couple of props and, as PT says, a second rower:
Rourke Myers Scott ? Tchamambe Lawford Russell Lingard Doyle High ? ? Pitts
If I were playing Fantasy RL, I'd also want to sign a world-class halfback in the Lachlan Lam mould, a weapon of a centre like Tesi Niu, and a gamebreaking winger like Xavier Savage, which would leave us with a team full of threats and take us to finals. However, that's more for 2027, and I'm more than happy to see how Lawford, Hall, Myers and Tchamambe develop in that time.
