Who's to blame for our current situation? From a team who for seasons where the best outside of SL (apart from the parachute FT teams) to a team who are now clearly out of their depth. How can we fall apart while everyone around us are strengthening? Apart from Widnes our fan base has been over twice the size of our competitors, we have a very good lottery and a decent amount of cash from LISA yet the likes of Fev, Batley, Sheffield and even Batley are now as good if not better than us on the pitch. Fax today only had 2100 (400 from Leigh?) so they surely have a similar budget to ours. Who has assembled this squad and who has chosen the coaching staff over the last few seasons? Our star signing has still done nothing, why sign Durbin, why Nanyn, Marsh, Stewart, Maden, Smith, Hobson - need I go on.
We may have one or two good youngsters but they ain't suddenly gonna develop speed or ball handling skills.

A sad day today - for me, we are now back to where we were pre Millward days, that is - out of our depth.

We're out of our depth when competing with arguably one of the best sides to grace this division in the past decade, granted, but that's what reassessing expectations is all about. We can still give virtually every other side in the league a good game, and that certainly wasn't the case on many occasions pre-Millward.

recruitment is too blame. The first thing that got me was re-signing Hobson and Watson. HOwever fair play to Watson he has proved me wrong. Better recruitment needed for next season. Lets start early!

Your not alone, particularly against Halifax this year, they've basically embarrassed almost everyone they've played.

Halifax were as good today as I've seen them for a long while when the passes stuck. Stick with your team, a couple of years re-building is better than a quick fix.

Not when crowds are getting lower and lower its not.

The blame (as such) lies with A .Thomas and the "board" and I'm sure they expect and know that will always be the case if a club (or business) they run starts to underperform.
We are on the way down in terms of league standing but I suppose we are (or should be) debt free as little money is being spent/available for team improvement.

The thing I'm interested in is if there is a plan from those who control the purse strings or are we just being kept alive/ saved from going under, such is the problems in keeping a semi pro club going these days.
Its widely hinted at by those that know him that AT has kept this club afloat since his arrival, my concern is what happens when people get fed up of us slowly dipping further down the pecking order year after year without explanation(without half decent signings and a inability to have consistancy in the coaching role we will and are slipping down), the club did use to have a good rapport with its fans - time for that to start rebranding as a town/ community club again IMO.

Whilst I agree its a miracle how other clubs are suddenly outperforming us in the financial stakes (better signings on poorer gates / fan income etc) , I also fully expect a number of clubs to follow Doncaster and implode financially such is the crazy state of the game outside the SL (and for blame on that one Its R Lewis and the RFL for allowing crazy ideas/hopes to be formed when they know only Toulouse are going out of this league).

I personally wouldn't be too concerned with Leigh for not blowing a fortune on a squad if I thought we had looked at all potentials for revenue streams or have a plan A , B and C.
Basically something that means we can be a competitive club longterm and attract support for whatever level we are going to be at , even if our finances are so tight it means we'll be heading to Championship 1.
