| To watch Wigan's academy side? Are you serious?
Skolars could have restored the Broncos to the capital challenge but chose to stay in bed with Wigan. I know, as a permanent stay away, you will tell me that Broncos are rubbish, don't deserve it, wouldn't waste my time etc. But really? Wigan academy?
Enjoy. And please don't say you're supporting Rugby League in London.

You've made a number of very general assumptions there Ronnie, but thanks for talking on my behalf. No one hates Wigan more than me(I didn't shop at JJB for 20 years when Whelan owned Wigan and JJB as I didn't want to contribute to there success-That's the level of hatred I have for them). Broncos probably deserve it more than ever because they are not far of the level of Skolars these days and as such the game would be more of a spectacle. Have you considered that there may be some history hence why the Broncos haven't been invited back? Wigan the brand is so much bigger also. A city slikker neutral wouldn't know Tomkins from a reserve.
Ive got a courtesy invite with meal so thought I would go for the day, but you wouldn't take them up on that would you Ronnie given your comments above. See what I did there?? Talked for you.
Wigan plus Tomkins talking is probably my greatest nightmare in life, but hey lets see.

| I don't hate any club really, had an interview with Lindsay when in charge at Wigan, and Chairman Rathbone for club secretary before they became CEO's, what a joke it was, but had three mates who played for them and even though when offered the job I said I had accepted another?? I don't hate Wigan like many St Helens born people do.
The game is a great idea and the venue, but IF Wigan play an academy side what prestige is it? I feel most of those who attend would not mind which club played, but not just youth, that does the sport no good.

| So David Hughes leaves Skolars in the lurch & then you expect them to jump back into bed with Broncos?
This place is like being "Through The Looking Glass" at times.

| Its a pre-season friendly for goodness sake. Skolars give their team an early run out against a Wigan XIII. Pretty much every Premiership football team has friendlies against lower division opposition which do not feature most if any of the first team. And generally fans make a judgement as to whether its worth the effort. Lots don't bother, some just can't miss it.
It is a name Skolars are playing against which probably works on the broader promotional side, particularly corporately. Its a Skolars hosted event and up to them who they decide to play.
I will be attending. Can make a judgement about what sort of squad Skolars look like having this year, see if there are any potential first teamers coming through at Wigan we should look out for. It is also a great opportunity to meet up with a range of people who I won't have seen since the end of last season, others who no longer go to season games but do attend this one as its in the City. Its a chance to talk about rugby league generally.

https://www.wiganwarriors.com/fixtures I have a feeling Wigan will make the Reds game more of a priority that a third rate PT team on a cricket field in London.
CN you normally talk 5h1t but your comment above is spot on.

Have I deciphered this correctly?
You went along for an interview when you had no intention of accepting the job on offer.
Even Lewis Carroll couldn't have made that up.

Maybe if you've been sent by the Job Centre.
Although I suppose it could explain how we got lumbered with Gus.

Is there any reason For Scholars to want the Bronco's back in this fixture given the previous circumstances ant the fact that it is an exercise to attract sponsors .
Last 2 seasons Wigan have beaten the Scholars .
2015 10 - 28
2014 0 - 48
Both Wigan teams were made up of almost entirely U 19 or Dual Registration players . Is there really any mileage for Rugby League in Wigan playing a full strength team and putting say 100+ points past the Scholars ? Would do neither team any good IMO .
Can't really understand some peoples hatred of other teams. I am no supporter of say Saints , Leeds or Wire but can appreciate the rugby all 3 play at times (usually against Wigan lol) .
Regards , EW

| Someone asks why I did not take the post? I was not impressed how Wigan was being run at the time by Lindsay as a person, though I had respect for the way he turned the RFL around with Super League, it was a post I would have liked, I did some training with Graham McCarthy then Warrington Club Secretary, but I was in a good career in radio and I am no mercenary, job centre? I only ever applied for one job when leaving school in radio, was head hunted each time after. If only some people could just read and not look for faults all the time! but I suppose that may be hard for a few.
No one should hate any club! and I would never.
